A Reversible Fan

A Reversible Fan – (l’envers de ce superbe √©ventail!)

This fan was a fine art’s project I made at the University of South Carolina under the excellent tutelage of New Orleans‘ artist, Anne Boudreau. Annie was teaching us how to use Adobe Photoshop… in a very creative way. Every session, we had to churn out a different art project based on the Photoshop tool we were to learn that week. Our final project was to take the various pages we had created and turn them into a book. Being a wild hair, I had to do something else that opened and closed, so I chose to turn my pages into a reversible hand fan.

The only page I vividly remember making was the one of a man juggling soccer balls, morphing into a flowering teacup (find it in one of the middle fan sections).

Anne Boudreau should be paid huge bucks to teach Photoshop around the globe, because she’s simply a genius… and Photoshop might very well be the one tool in my life that has helped me get along financially in this world… other than a pen and a pair of hair sheers.
